Rev. Stephen B. Klots

Chaplain, South Kent School, South Kent, CT
Primary Position: Chaplain

Steve oversees the school’s spiritual and religious life, which includes all-school and voluntary services, as well as other religious services as necessary. Additionally he serves as a pastoral presence on campus, especially for boarding students who come from all over the world, and teaches religious education.

He is also a member of the English Department and Coordinator for The Call to Service, the community service component of our curriculum. This includes getting students to engage in off-campus service projects (such as trips to the Church Street Eats soup kitchen at Christ Church Cathedral in Hartford, to work with organizations like Rebuilding Together), and supervising student involvement in our on-campus service program–the “jobs” program (which is akin to the chores students have to do as part of this community).

Steve is also the Cross Country Coach, and is a former president of the New England Preparatory School Track Association. He assists the hockey and lacrosse coaches, and he has in the past been the head coach of JV Basketball and JV Lacrosse.
