Jeff has been the curate at St. John’s since June of 2008.
He was ordained to the diaconate on June 3, 2008, at Good Shepherd in Nashua, N.H.,
and then ordained to the priesthood on December 12, 2008, at St. John’s
by the Rt. Rev. V. Gene Robinson.
Jeff spent most of his childhood in Nashua, though he moved to Hudson, Oh., and then to Allen, Tex., while still in high school. He received his Bachelor of Arts with honors at the University of Texas at Austin in the field of Biology in 2005, and his Masters of Divinity from The General Theological Seminary in New York City in 2008.
Jeff was married to his wife Annie on May 23rd, 2009, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where she is from. He is a lifelong ice hockey player, Red Sox fan, and enjoys biking, hiking, skiing, and almost anything outdoors. They both enjoy exploring the beautiful Seacoast region and taking advantage of its many gifts, as well as traveling whenever they are able.
As the curate at St. John’s, Jeff’s role is that of a generalist. He preaches, leads liturgy, teaches, makes pastoral visits, and assists the rector in the leadership of the parish. Additionally, he is the staff point for the Journey to Adulthood program, our youth group, and assists in the children’s programs and is helpful to the Christian Education Director.
Before coming to St. John’s, Jeff served as associate chaplain to the NYU Episcopal Center, served as the founding intern to a program serving the North Country of the Diocese of New Hampshire, and served as a seminarian intern at Christ and St. Stephen’s in New York City, and Church of the Incarnation in Jersey City.
Jeff’s faith is grounded in his baptismal faith, the gift that gives every one of us the ministry God calls us to each and every day. Whether it be his transition from the sciences to theology, to living in New England, the Midwest, the Southwest, and New York City, or the many wonderful communities he has been able to serve, Jeff has seen Jesus Christ work through his life in so many ways, and that is the lens through which he strives to see each day.
