The Rev. Brenton H. Carey

The Rev. Brent Carey and his son Ian The Rev. Brent Carey has served the Episcopal Church as priest since 1997. Ordained in the Episcopal Diocese of California, the Rev. Carey served as curate at Christ Church, Exeter, N.H., from 1997–’98, as associate rector at St. John’s, Lynchburg, Va., from 1998–2001, and as rector at St. David’s, San Diego, Calif., from 2001 until early May, 2010. He is currently taking a self-imposed sabbatical while continuing his Doctor of Ministry studies in Christian Spirituality at the Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta and training as a church management consultant and facilitator.

The Rev. Brent Carey The Rev. Carey has served multiple terms as an elected member of Diocesan Council in the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego, on the Board of Directors of Recovery Ministries of the Episcopal Church, and on the Dean’s Advisory Council of the Church Divinity School of the Pacific, from which he received the M.Div. in 1993.
