Rye Beach, New Hampshire

St. Andrew’s-by-the-Sea is the Episcopal summer chapel in Rye Beach, N.H.

This year marks the 138th anniversary in which our doors have been opened to worshippers. Episcopal services actually began in Rye Beach in 1864 in the then nearby Farragut Hotel. This chapel was not built until 1876. Even though construction was not quite finished, the first service was held on August 4th of that year.

Holy Eucharist was celebrated this year on Sundays from Father’s Day (June 15) through Labor Day weekend (August 31):

  • 8:00 am Rite I
  • 10:00 am Rite II with music
  • Note: On August 17th there was a single combined service at 9:00 am

Refreshments were served in the churchyard after both services.

We had a wonderful season this year. Check out the Calendar to see our list of esteemed guest celebrants and musicians. to add (or update) your contact information so that we can keep you apprised of our 2015 Schedule once it is finalized next spring. And donations are welcomed at any time and may be mailed to the address on the Contact page.

Thank you, and God bless you and yours!
