St. Andrew’s-by-the-Sea
30 Church Road
Rye Beach, New Hampshire

St. Andrew’s-by-the-Sea is the Episcopal summer chapel in Rye Beach, N.H.

This year marks the 138th anniversary in which our doors have been opened to worshippers. Episcopal services actually began in Rye Beach in 1864 in the then nearby Farragut Hotel. This chapel was not built until 1876. Even though construction was not quite finished, the first service was held on August 4th of that year.

Holy Eucharist is celebrated on Sundays from mid-June through Labor Day weekend:

  • 8:00 am Rite I
  • 10:00 am Rite II with music
  • Note: On August 17th there was a single combined service at 9:00 am

Refreshments are served in the churchyard after both services.

On August 31st we are pleased to welcome:

  • Celebrant: The Rt. Rev. A. Robert Hirschfeld, bishop, Diocese of New Hampshire
  • Music: Brooke Townsend-LaMonica, violin, and Alex Ross, bagpipe

We hope to see you here!
