St. Andrew’s-by-the-Sea is the Episcopal summer chapel in Rye Beach, N.H.
This year marks the 134th anniversary in which our doors have been opened to worshippers. Episcopal services actually began in Rye Beach in 1864 in the then nearby Farragut Hotel. This chapel was not built until 1876. Even though construction was not quite finished, the first service was held on August 4th of that year.
Holy Eucharist is celebrated on Sundays at 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. from late June through early September. The 8:00 service is Rite I and the 10:00 service is Rite II with music. Refreshments are served in the churchyard after both services.
